in an effort to detach myself from the blocky, suffocating minimalism and stress of modern social media, i am attempting to code my own website. this journey started on february 23, 2025, and i hope i find what i seek or alternatively, find enjoyment in the adventure along the way. this website is heavily inspired by the html nerds (affectionate) before me and my love for journaling, old school internet, and all heavily embellished things.
anyway, i am maeday (pictured on the right)! my nickname was given to me by a close friend of mine, and it comes from "mayday", the word pilots use as a distress signal. i just changed the spelling to "maeday" to match the spelling of my actual name. morbid, maybe, but it rolls off the tongue nicely, and i think it's cute. i am currently attending college as a chemistry major, and i'm planning to pursue pharmacy school afterwards and become a pharmacist. i am also a genderqueer lesbian who uses they/them pronouns. i haven't touched html much recently, and especially not from scratch. the last time i truly made something of my own was back in middle school for a computer science class. it has been a while... u_u but i'm sure i'll get used to it as i continue tweaking this page! hopefully i finish the general layout of this website soon so i can get to the actual point of this website: blogging. :3
